Level 1 Tasks

 Here you have the tasks we will working with in this level.

Remember you're supposed to hand in your tasks + your workbook on test day! Task + workbook= 2 points

Nice to meet you:

  1. Write a conversation. Imagine, it's your first day of class in URBE and you're meeting new friends. Introduce yourself, say your name and last name. Exchange personal information. Ask your new friends telephone numbers. Follow the steps in the hand out.

  2. Write a short paragraph about you. (hand out)

  3. Post your introduction at the community www.groups.yahoo.com/group/eflcenterworkshop , read your partners’ introduction and replay to one of them.

  4. * Remember! After you finish your composition and before you post it to the community, show it to someone (tutor, friend, relative, etc) to read it and help you check your mistakes.

Describe what and where things are in a picture.

  1. Get pictures from magazines, books, computers, etc. and create a collage with the pictures. Describe what things there are in the pictures, where things are in the pictures and don't forget to use prepositions of place: in, on, under, in front of, behind, between, next to, etc.

  2. Bring your collage to class and present it to your classmates.

Describe yourself and someone famous.

 

  1. Write a short composition about you. Include your name, nationality, language, age, physical and personality description.

  2. Write a short composition about someone you admire (mom, dad, sister or brother, teacher, athlete, actor or actress)

  3. Post your composition at the community www.groups.yahoo.com/group/eflcenterworkshop , read your partners’ compositions and replay to one of them. Scan your picture and upload it to the community.

  4. * Remember! After you finish your composition and before you post it to the community, show it to someone (tutor, friend, relative, etc) to read it and help you check your mistakes.

  1. Write a composition about you. Tell where you live, how you go to school, tell about your family and daily routines.

  2. Draw your family tree.

  3. Use the handout daily routines to draw what you do in a regular day.
