Food: likes, dislikes, eating habits and frequency

    

  1. Team activity: Role play a conversation.

    a. Imagine you're going to have a party, barbecue, graduation party and you and your friends are deciding what to eat, drink, listen to, and who to invite to the party. Talk about what you need to get from the supermarket and what you don't need. Use some, any, there is, there are, etc.

  2. Individual activity:

    a. Write a short composition about your eating habits, talk about what you have for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Write what you have on weekends. Do you ever eat at a restaurant? Where? What do you order? Why?

  3. Post your composition at the community www.groups.yahoo.com/group/eflcenterworkshop , read your partners’ introduction and replay to one of them.

  4. * Remember! After you finish your composition and before you post it to the community, show it to someone (tutor, friend, relative, etc) to read it and help you check your mistakes.

  1. Write a composition about your abilities and talents. Talk about your favorite sport.

  2. Show and tell. Do you have special abilities or talents? What can you do? Tell the class about it. Bring everything you need to show your talent.

Talking about birthdays, holidays, and celebrations:

 

  1. Talk about your dream birthday party. Describe the place, say who’s coming, what you’re going to do, what you’re going to eat or drink, etc.

  2. Write a short composition about a special holiday in Venezuela. Consider the following: date and how long it lasts, customs: decorations, food, music, Activities, Reasons for liking or not.

  1. Team activity: Role play a conversation.

    Tell a friend about your health problems and say how you feel

    Your friend suggests you go to the doctor

    Go to the doctor office and tell the doctor what’s wrong.

    The doctor gives you a lot of advices and tells you to get some medicine.

    Talk to your friend again. Now you feel better.

    a. Read page 77 in your book and write a short composition about health tips.

  1. Write a biography about your favorite actor, actress, singer, sport person, painter, etc. Say when and where he or she was born, nationality, childhood, school life, reason for being famous and why you selected him or her.

  2. Draw a time line to tell about your famous person.

  3. Be ready to tell the class about your special person. Don’t tell them who you’re going to talk about. Have them guess.

        Call a friend. He or she is not at home.

        Leave a message. Tell your phone number
